We were recommended to Lights on Tutoring and Elaine by a trusted friend when my son, Jack, was in 7th grade at San Elijo Middle School.  Jack was enrolled in Accelerated Math, which completes grade 7, 8 and 9 math in 2 years allowing your child to enter sophomore math as a freshman.  My son is a strong student but found the pace of the math class to be extremely fast and also realized that he was not 100% sure how to study for math tests.  Elaine taught Jack concrete study skills that will help him in higher education, reviewed all concepts in depth at a slower pace and communicated with my husband and I on Jack's progress.  Jack went from dreading math tests to receiving strong grades with little stress.  He was so successful in 7th grade and gained a ton of confidence in his math skills that he continued on in Accelerated Math for 8th grade.  Everything was going great and then the school shut-down due to Corona Virus took place in March.  I contacted Elaine and we came up with a plan to make sure that Jack stayed on track and completed the year of math since these are skills that he will continue to build on in high school and beyond.  As most parents experienced, schools scrambled to get online schooling in place so it was very reassuring to have Jack continuing with a trusted tutor.  Elaine also taught Jack and a few friends Spanish 1 during this time, as they would be continuing to Spanish 2 in the Fall.  Elaine set up weekly Zoom meetings, assigned work, checked in on what his San Elijo teachers were doing and kept Jack engaged and on track during a crazy time.  Our family highly recommends Lights on Tutoring and will continue to use Elaine and recommend her to others

Online Tutoring

I have now been working with Mrs. Keswick on math for over a year and just recently started Spanish. She has made learning a lot easier for me and I quickly saw an increase in grades. During this unexpected time, she has stayed on top of what we are learning in class. During our online tutoring sessions, when we get ahead of what I’m learning in my math class it makes me feel like I am prepared in class and understand the topic a lot better. Overall she is very nice and very beneficial in helping getting your grades up and learning new topics easier.
